Full-time IT Specialist


This position is located within the DoD Information Network Inspection Division (RS32), DKAMDC at Chambersburg, PA.

Provides technical support and guidance to staff in matters relating to information management (IT) issues that involve a wide range of IT management.
Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities, risks, and protection needs.
Conducts systems security evaluations, audits, and reviews; developing systems security contingency plans.
Participates in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies;
Serves as an IT Specialist (INFOSEC) that implements, maintains and conducts on-site and remote analyses of information systems standard security products.

50% or Greater
Frequent travel is required

The incumbent of this position is subjected to drug testing.
Basic Requirements:

Applicants must demonstrate on their resume that they have IT-related experience and/or education demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below.

Specialized Experience:
For the GS-13, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-12 if outside the Federal service, is required.

Specialized experience is defined as experience in evaluating the integrity of applications, systems, and networks; performing risk assessments of systems and networks.

In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of knowledge, skills and abilities, or competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position. Applicants must describe how their experience meets the competencies within the body of the resume. No separate statements addressing KSA's or competencies are required.

Qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.

There is no substitution of education for the specialized experience requirement at this grade level.

Background or Security Investigation:

The individual selected will be subject to an investigation in conjunction with granting of a security clearance prior to appointment.
